Nails Care



Nails like hair are made from keratin. It is a strong protein that is produced by cells beneath the cuticle at the nails base.

The best nail hardeners are nourishing food: fresh fruits and vegetables and raw nuts and seeds. To nourish the nails from the inside, eat more oats and include sea vegetables in your diet. Drink three cups of horsetail tea daily, which is rich in the mineral silica. If your nails are very brittle, include three tablespoons of freshly ground flaxseeds to your regimen. Essential fatty acids can improve hand and nail quality.

Be sure that the equipment used by your manicurist is sterilized.

Nail polish can dry and stain the nails as well as limit oxygen exposure to the nails. If you do use one for special occasions, look for those that are free of toluene and formaldehyde.

Remove any moisturizer that may be on your nails or the nail polish will not adhere to them.
Polish in layers, allowing each layer to dry between coats. Three coats are considered standard.
Don’t dry nails with a blow-dryer or other heat source or the polish will lift from the nails.
Polishing your nails with a buff gives them a natural shine and keeps them beautiful without artificial polish.
Use an acetone-free nails remover and use as little as possible.
Never soak your nails in the nail polish remover.
Because all nail polish removers are hazardous to the health of nails, and of all the cosmetics available, they are one of the most allergenic.

To make your nails stronger, soak them in warm olive, sesame, or wheat germ oil with four drops of lemon essential oil for ten minutes.

Every day care for your hands


Taking care of the beauty of your hands is no less important than taking care of your appearance, because the hands are one of the most visible parts. But they are often exposed to harsh daily activities. Therefore they should receive a special beauty care.
- Protect your hands from the cold weather by wearing gloves to protect your hands.
- Protect your hands from chemicals by wearing waterproof gloves when doing housecleaning.
- Before gardening, scratch your nails into a bar of soap, this will help keep the dirt out. You can also wear gloves when gardening to protect your hands.
- Wash your hands in warm water instead of hot, which can damage growing cells.  
- Use a natural lotion after washing and drying your hands. Have some lotion in your desk and purse and use it as needed throughout the day. Massage lotion into your hands before bed.

- Scrub your hands with lemon juice and salt twice a week to make them soft and to remove pigmentation.
- Massage your hands with a mixture of one teaspoon honey and one teaspoon olive oil twice a week for beautiful hands.
- Soak your hands in warm milk. Milk contains lactic acid in the form of alpha hydroxyl acid that will exfoliate the skin naturally, remove dead skin cells gently and helps to strengthen the nails.

- Exfoliate your hands by massaging them with sugar and a bit of almond oil.
A gentle scrub for your hand:
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon raw sugar
massage well into your hands. Rinse well with cold water.
